Broccoli & apple salad

I saw delicious recipe in a magazine that Walmart gives out for free. In Walmart LiveBetter Summer 2013 pg 22, Broccoli, apple & bacon salad had very nice balance between citrus taste of apple with crunchy broccoli.

A slight change I made with this recipe is that I steamed the broccoli a little to punch out the flavor more.

Recipe:  Broccoli, apple & bacon salad
4 strips - bacon: chopped and grilled until crispy.
1 large - head of broccoli: thinly sliced, also used stem part too(I steamed mine a little).
1/2 cup - toasted walnut halves.
1 medium - red apple, chopped.

Dressing: mix all in food processor
1/2cup -toasted walnut halves: finely grounded.
2 tbsp - olive oil
2 tbsp - lemon juice
1 tsp - maple syrup
1/4 tsp - salt
1/8 tsp - black pepper

1.Mix walnut, apple, broccoli, 1/2 bacon together.
2.Pour dressing mixture over and toss well to coat.
3.Add remaining bacon on top.

Simple Breakfast

Here is one of my breakfast recipe I make on the weekends. I like waking up in the morning, go to my kitchen to see leftover food in the fridge.

Broiled Sunny side up Opensand
- 2 slices of bread, toasted
- 2 eggs
- Handful of grape tomatoes, sliced in half
- Thinly sliced green peppers
- Parmesan cheese

1. Pre-heat broiler. Lay parchment paper on pie tray(or toaster tray) with  green pepper and tomatoes.
2. Broil for 8-10min.
3. Crack 2 eggs on top the veggies, and broil for another 8-10min.
4. Lay each egg on slice of bread. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
* you can combine veggies and crack egg on top of it and broil it at once but you won't get the roasted flavor from the veggies.

With egg and slice of bread, you can put anything you like and it'll go so well!
